At least that was the submission of two presidential candidates. One said the people are corrupt, the other the system. I’ve searched my heard looking for how to justify both candidates’ paradigm but I have not been able to
However, the events of the last two days in my life makes me ask this question;”if the system is corrupt,is it not a human system?” Or how can a system get corrupt on its own?
There are some systems that must be totally restructured,if Nigeria must move forward. Namely the civil service! Federal, state or local must be totally restructured, and the people completely re-oriented!
There cannot be a way forward if people are not guided by principles;if the message of delayed gratification is not preached&the joys of dignity in labour encouraged!
I love the elderly&i respect the culture of the African to respect for the elderly. How this aspect of our existence is manipulated calls for great caution. I’m not scolding the elderly, but when an office environment is turned into an environment of “societal incompetence” in the name of being older than;there needs to be a caution
The only way you can preach to me and I can accept is if you do as you preach. Cliché yes, but so true. That you are older doesn’t mean the younger person is foolish. At least a yoruba adage says “its the wisdom of both the elderly and the young that forms the foundation of ife land”
Don’t despise the wisdom of the young.
That the system is rotten, was a function of some people’s lack of personal principles: lack of value for proper ethics. I could go on and on but I’m quite disoriented now, cos the events of the last 2 days have left me wondering, who is more right, Gen Buhari, who says the people are corrupt or Nuhu Ribadu who says its the system?
