A balance?

We need to understand that trading blames is not the solution to the problems in Nigeria. Though we (older & younger generations) have different views about who did, what wrong and when .The fact is a lot of things are wrong with our country and we can either fix it or trade blames.

The truth is with all due respect we (the younger generation) are products of a broken system. A system which we can not say was neither intact nor suitable for us as Africans when it was handed over to our parents (the older generation).

A system where (we learnt ) that they were taught integrity, excellence, respect ,self pride , morals etc but with all due respect innovation, intelligence were replaced with instructions and rules without questioning authority.

The system got broken along the path because it was not genuine, not right for us Africans as at when it was given to us (we could argue this).

The older generation should understand that ‘omo ti a ko lo am gbe ile ta ko ta’
(Yoruba adage), so what should we expect? But that is not an excuse not to do the right thing and live for today only.

We have seen what corruption is capable of, the earlier we do something about the ills the better.

Let’s ‘light a candle on the threshold for those who have gone before us and for those who are coming behind us’. Lets live not for ourselves but for all of us and for our unborn children.
