Being a person of colour is a challenge enough in the world; add to it the challenge of being a Nigerian, who must first struggle to identify himself/herself as an individual, all at the same time making sure he/she is relevant in the world of today.
The Nigerian identity has been so bruised that it takes the grace of God, and I mean that, the grace of God to pull through any situation around the world.
The pain is we are the ones who have built this image over the years, yeah yeah, sue me when I don’t fall into the category of Nigerians who put the blame solely on the government, rulers, dictators, bullies (ok I have supplied some do the rest), you get the picture huh.
Yes, we have helped all these afore-mention build a country we are not struggling to hold up together. Question: was it the government who have led the Nigerians who do drugs or are just plain con men, to be what they are?
Did they go-through some out of the body experience-telling them to be the kind of persons they have become?
Yeah the whole citizenry bears the brunt, but can you imagine the extent to which these actions damage the humanity of these people?
No, I am not exonerating the leaders which includes the home any way, i am saying, if you believe in any form of cosmic authority, can you truly face that force that helps keep the world you exist and subsist in, then tell him you are proud of the things you do?
There is so much we can say in defence of all that goes on in this country, and so much we can also say for the leaders, captains, who have steered the ship of this country in the wrong direction….
However how much can be said of the blood that runs through your vein? The green blood that makes you go green with anger when you get to any country’s immigration and are treated as a “special” case. That green blood that makes sure you don’t get to yours? And on the other side, you are wondering if these people are taking off the roads if you would truly miss them or they’ll just be good riddance.
Whatever you feel, however you feel, whatever you dream, however you dream, whatever you think can be done differently, however you think it can be done, On this page, we already know the country is plagued with plethora of issues, what we want to do is understand where we are as a people and use the great ideas you’d put down on this space to pivot the change we all desperately pray for.
Do you want a revolution? Let it start with you!!!!!
I’ve got green blood, do YOU?
Knowledge puffs up;love covers all; love yourself;love your neighbour;love this country;above all love God He is the essence of your being.
