Who has the blame???

Ok. In its entirety, the leaders bare the largest share of the blame of a failing nation i however insist the people also have a tiger’s share. Tell me, as a parent if you have tried to teach your children to work as a team and de-emphasize sibling rivalry, but they refuse, and continue to bicker and seek each Other’s Hercules heel, would you respect them or treat them as they act?

I have heard of such arguments that says it’s because Nigerians know that the full extent of the law will not catch up with them is why they break the law for instance. That is interesting and i think counterproductive, because we will never leave the vicious cycle that is making us go in a merry go round. We cheat each other and then say stuffs like “we be small thief dem wey dey up nko”. Really does their being bad leaders serve as an excuse for you and i be bad people? The scenario of the leader and the led is soo different from that of a friend. I am sure you have heard “show me your friend and I’d show you who you are” correct me if i am wrong, i have not heard “show me your leader and i’d show you who you are”. And i think that is quaint, because a leader does not determine who you are he can only harness what you have, what i have, pool it together and build on it.

Now this is where I’d fault our leaders, they have not done their home work well, and that definitely has some rippling effects, but i do not agree that it should impart on the kind of person you and i are.

Love yourself, love your neighbour, love this country above all love God He is the essence of your being…
